Parenting, I often wonder what kind of parent I will be, its scary really. I always valued that I had two entirely different parenting styles growing up, while mother wanted to nuture and protect us from everything, dad wanted us to be tough and daring. I know they made alot of mistakes, reinforcing traditional roles on us, mother making appearance and weight such an issue I still struggle with accepting who I am and what I look like. Encouraging us to be conpetative with one another, making me feel like shit when I had a hard time learning to spell and my multipication tables.

Things I hope I never do

1) Inforce gender sterotypes

2) Have children who are less then five years apart in age

3)Make my daughter(s) believe their self worth is entwined with how they look and what boys like them.

4) Inforcing racist and homophobic ideas in my home ( thats a no brainer this will NEVER happen in my home)
